I’m proud to be called to this small part of the greater Church. Amid all our debates it’s a blessing to be an Anglican.

Church for Today
February 2, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Ya, I know it looks weird, but this is the way for some in the city to bring attendtion to church. Is it a gimmick? Sure it is, but at least it shows the public that church can relate to modernity. Wasn’t that the enterprise of the monastic movement in the Dark Ages, to bring light and engage the people where they needed to be met? I think this is wonderful not just as a priest-geek but as a person seeking a church that will try and understand that the world wants invention.
check out Evoke thanks Gizmodo for the tip

Last Sunday of Epiphany (Sermon Update)
February 2, 2008 · 2 Comments
This may be the last time I post Sermons and the Bulletin in Blogger, please keep following both Pastorpainter.com and http://pastorpainter.wordpress.com/. I may be able to make the migration on Monday or Wednesday. At that point pastorpainter.com will look different yet be the main way to get information from this silly priest.

Making Comments?
February 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment
OK I know some of you have taken a peek here… see you are actually here, relax put up your feet. Now get back to your keyboards and answer the following: Is this easier to read? Do you like the darker background? I’m also interested in how the comments work as well… do the comments work well?
PLEASE NOTE: This is just a test, not the final product.

Site Re-Design: A Slow Process
January 31, 2008 · Leave a Comment
I’ve spent the past hour with Flickr and looking at my GoDaddy host File Manager. This site might go through some outages in the next few weeks for bear with me.
In no way is http://pastorpainter.wordpress.com/ the way the “pastorpainter dot com” site is going to look, but it’s close.
I’m advising everyone who visits to check there as well for the time being. There is a post up about Pippa.
Cheers, D+

The Debate Nears an End
January 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment
I think I’m close to just saying goodbye old friend to Blogger. Again, it’s nothing Blogger has done or not done, I just feel that WordPress has more options. Saying goodbye means leaving an archive blogger spot somewhere hidden in www.pastorpainter.com/blogger or something like that… but I’m ahead of myself.
I’m searching for a theme and looking into a podcast host. I want something regular and mainly to acompany my Vlog on Youtube. I think my podcast would be a combination of sermons and daily offices with a short homily as well as possible issues effecting Anglicans. I’m doing much thinking about this. I’m not a reporter nor am I some great scholar, but I do love this church and wish to address some of the loonies out there trying to get as much as they can. The Vlog would be light and more personal, just what’s new and maybe funny stuff.
Anyway the website at pastorpainter.com might just undergo a great change, be warned; maybe even a bit afraid
I know I am.
OH ya this theme is a temp solution while I figure all this tech out… and yes I am still on call and writing my reports and doing all the mundane for the upcoming Annual meeting. LOL
