Well the main pastorpainter.com site is now under construction but working.  Keep checking both this site and that as you watch the “Official” site unfurl; believe me I’m just as interested to know what it will look like as you do :-)

Font Size & Comments

Someone at church said tonight that the “comment” section is a bit intensive. Don’t worry. The e-mail goes to me but I will see if I can stream line it. What happens is it is set for me to approve it, as you can see above, that’s what I get before I grant permission to show to the world.

Again, I’m still spending time transferring back to the Pastorpainter dot com site where I will have much more control and can find different templates. ATM I can only use the ones set by WordPress.

All in all you will eventually find it to be more diverse and flexible. Please don’t be shy to post.

I’m am trying to find a template that I like but also has a larger font size in the body of my posts.

For now it’s time for me to go bed-i-byes in order to recover for tomorrow.

And for the record this one won’t stay for long either.

The Switch has Begun

February 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I have switched my FTP back from pastorpainter.com to pastorpainter.blogger.com.  All my Blogger files have been “imported” into WordPress and then “exported” onto my Mac.  I am now preparing to add a MySql database account for WP and then ftp “transfer” my exported WP files (having been Blogger files) back to pastorpainter.com.

Complicated… ya, it feels like penitence!

I will then begin to fool around with the look and links over the next week.  The nice thing is if you look back or down you will see all the Blogger files, sermons etc are there and linked, actually linked quite nicely.  Stay tuned and don’t forget to go to church somewhere today to recieved your ashes… more importantly to mark the beginning of this journey.

I have to say I love this, I hope you do too. It’s funny, but I also hope thought provoking.

Shrove Starch

February 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I’m ill, ill with some bronchial flu, nevertheless I am stuffing myself with pancakes and all things starch… why?  Because Lent is moments away.

Bye bye bread, pasta and potatoes.  I love them too much. Lent is a time to give up something in order to encourage you to think upon the cross and the salvation the Lord won for you.  That victory came at a cost and his cost deserves to be marked. The Church marks it with a time of mindful sacrifice and alms giving: Lent.  So the point is by sacrificing something you enjoy, you will eventually crave, in the craving you are reminded of “why” and then you continue to mark His sacrifice by continuing on the road to Holy Week.  It’s all about recalling his free sacrifice and remembering.  It’s not a diet or a thing to do, it’s a blessing and a act of prayer, humility and worship.  Don’t do it, if you’re not prepared to understand “why.”

So my thing last year was the beard… I hate the beard (Pippa loved it) it was scratchy and made me think.  This year it’s starch.  I lost 14 lbs this past summer, after the fire I began to eat, and gained 8 lbs.  So this is a diet yet really it’s a Lenten observance since I love starch and I am doing this for the Lord.

Sunday… yes Sunday is always the day of Resurrection and so it is always a Feast Day and thus I can eat starch on Sunday.  Let’s see how I manage.

I currently weigh, for those who will follow the diet aspect of this, 221.5 lbs.
